On March 3, the DOT published a Request for Information (RFI) in response to Executive Orders related to deregulation. The RFI seeks input on existing regulations, guidance, and reporting requirements that may be outdated, unnecessary, or overly burdensome.
DOT is specifically requesting detailed suggestions for repealing, replacing, or modifying its regulations, along with cost and technical justifications to support those recommendations.
This is a significant opportunity for the industry to help shape PHMSA regulations. Responses are due by May 5.
