What is TestOp?

TestOp is a proprietary pressure test certification tool currently only available to pipeline operators for licensing.

How do I sign up for TestOp training?

(Non-Operator)

If you find that an Operator requires you or your company to use TestOp on a project, a representative from that Operator shall make a formal request to RCP that you be trained.RCP will then set up Operator-specific TestOp training for you. In this case, the Operator may cover the cost of training.

Alternatively, you can sign up for general contractor TestOp training (for Testers only) where you will receive a TestOp certification that’s good for 6 months from the date of Part 1 training.

Training dates can be scheduled at $250/person with a minimum cost of $500. For more information, please contact Heather Roark at hroark@rcp.com.

What are the different access types?

• Testers have User access. They can edit tests only. These are usually test contractors who only need to input test data.
• Test Designers have Admin access. They can edit tests as well as create New tests, Clone tests, or Revise tests. They are responsible for setting up the pressure test project in TestOp.
• Test Approvers have Admin access. They have the same abilities as Test Designers, however they are responsible for reviewing tests completed in TestOp and for finalizing test reports.

Although it’s uncommon, one person can act as Tester, Test Designer and Test Approver.

How does TestOp Training work?

Training is a 2-part system. Completion can take anywhere from 2 days to 30 days. It’s best to schedule training at least 2 weeks before the start of a project to ensure training is completed and access is granted.

Part 1: Online instruction accessed via Skype or pre-recorded videos.
Part 2: practice test administered by RCP.
