Position Summary
RCP is seeking a highly experienced Underground Gas Storage (UGS) Executive Consultant to support operators with integrity management, regulatory compliance, risk analysis, and field operations associated with underground gas storage facilities and associated facilities. This role is ideal for a seasoned industry professional who brings deep technical expertise, practical operational knowledge, and the ability to guide clients through complex integrity and compliance challenges.
The UGS Executive Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and support a wide range of integrity management and assessment activities, including regulatory compliance, risk evaluation, assessment planning, data analysis, and preventative and remedial recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Underground Gas Storage & Integrity Management
- Lead and support UGS integrity management initiatives in alignment with PHMSA regulations and industry best practices including API RP 1170 and API RP 1171
- Review, evaluate, and interpret integrity assessment and downhole inspection data
- Identify anomalies requiring evaluation based on Federal Code, company criteria, and engineering judgment
- Recommend preventative and remedial methods and mitigation strategies for areas of concern
- Support risk model development, threat identification, and preventive and mitigative measure evaluations
- Assist operators with storage integrity management program development, implementation, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience supporting Underground Gas Storage operations, integrity management, or pipeline integrity programs
- Strong working knowledge of PHMSA regulations, integrity management requirements, and applicable industry standards
- Experience with API RP 1170, API RP 1171, CFR Parts 191, 192, and/or 195 preferred
- Strong communication and client-facing consulting skills
- Ability to provide practical, technically sound recommendations to operators and field personnel
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited university preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
