Position Summary
The Pressure Test Engineer will work with the Integrity Management team to perform a variety of functions in support of RCP’s Pressure Testing Services. Sample work activities may include:
- Develop and update existing pressure test standards and pipeline-specific test plans
- Act as the account manager for RCP’s online pressure test application, TestOp, and perform the following activities:
- Ensure TestOp is compliant with all pressure testing requirements and update calculations based on regulatory changes
- Set up and validate pressure tests
- Answer all engineering related questions for TestOp users
- Coordinate with the software developer to update TestOp as needed
- Responsible for the project management and client relationships for TestOp
- Network with potential clients and perform demos of the software
- Attend industry events and conferences
- Provide in person pressure test and TestOp specific training
- Provide on-site pressure test assistance when needed
To be successful in this position, the Pressure Test Engineer should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Working knowledge of pipeline standards and regulations, including CFR 192, Subpart J and 195, Subpart E
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the midstream industry, preferably with pipeline pressure testing
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Extensive knowledge and skill with Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to perform duties outside of the basic job description and quickly expand skillset into new areas
- Detail-oriented and committed to delivering quality work with minimal oversight
- Experience with technical sales and promoting software
- Knowledge of SQL
- Comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people
Qualified candidates will have five or more years of experience performing engineering work as described above and have a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technical field from an accredited university.
