Underground Storage Reservoir Risk Model Update – API 1171 2nd Edition

RCP’s Version 2.0 of its TaskOp Underground Storage Reservoir Risk Module is officially live!

Developed in response to the release of API 1171’s 2nd Edition, RCP has added a number of new, premium features, including robust threat interaction tables, to enable users to comply with the new recommended practices being introduced.

Key benefits of UGS Risk Module Version 2.0 include:

  • Updated Q&A Set
Users can choose between using RCP’s predefined Q&A set, which was developed to work for all operators, or having the Q&A set customized for their specific wells and geographic locations, with the help of RCP’s UGS experts.
  • Assistance from RCP’s UGS Experts
RCP’s experts are available to assist in bringing users up to speed with the recommended practices introduced in API 1171’s 2nd Edition.
  • The Addition of Threat Interactions
In response to PHMSA Inspections’ increased focus on operators’ ability to demonstrate and detail threat interactions within their risk modeling process, RCP has added comprehensive threat interaction analysis and tracking to the UGS Reservoir Risk Module Version 2.0.
  • Access to real-time comparative results of risk scoring, comparing interacted and non-interacted risk scoring
Users can alter their preferred risk scoring methodology on a well-by-well basis or apply a single preference across all of their wells.
  • Advanced User Interface, including:
    • Cleaner UI layout for user information and risk modeling
    • Visual indicators which more intuitively detail the risk assessment process
    • Risk Metrics Tab access, enabling users to highlight various key features of their risk assessments
    • Improved charts and graphs to visual and convey risk
    • Threat Interaction Matrix
    • Advanced Risk Analysis Dashboard, with in-line filtering, statistics, and updated risk score matrix

What makes the TaskOp UGS Risk Module a valuable purchase for users?

  • Provides transparency in threat interaction analysis, enabling users to easily retrieve and display analysis data for use in later decision-making as well as audit demonstrations
  • Built-in library of prevention and mitigation measures which inform and enable decision-making choices
  • Provides users with the capability to display comparisons in threats, threat interactions, and potential consequences across the users’ well and/or reservoir fleet, either for specific threats and consequences or as an aggregated (“total risk”) level
  • Once customized for the operator, input data will consist of a series of questions where answering is facilitated by an easy-to-use drop-down menu. After the questions have been addressed, the module automatically produces user-friendly data displays
